1. Who I am
I am Caitlin, trading as The Candidate Edit, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. I provide CV writing, LinkedIn optimisation, and interview preparation services.

2. What information I collect
When you use my services, I may collect the following personal information:
- Your name and email address
- Your CV, LinkedIn profile, and related career documents
- Information you provide via the client intake form (work history, career goals, target roles)
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. I do not store card details.
- Booking information via Calendly
3. How I use your information
I use your personal information solely to deliver the services you have purchased. This includes:
- Reviewing and editing your CV or LinkedIn profile
- Preparing for and conducting your interview preparation session
- Communicating with you about your order, including confirming delivery and following up where needed
- Processing your payment via Stripe
I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes, and I will never sell or share your information with third parties.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, I process your personal data on the following lawful bases:
- Contract: processing is necessary to deliver the service you have purchased
- Legitimate interests: retaining records for a limited period to handle any queries following delivery
- Legal obligation: retaining basic transaction records for tax and accounting purposes
5. How long I keep your data
I retain your personal documents (your CV, intake form responses, and related materials) for up to three months after delivery of your completed work. After this period, documents are securely deleted.
Basic transaction records (name, email, service purchased, date) are retained for up to six years in line with HMRC requirements for sole traders.
Payment data is handled and retained by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy. I do not store your card details.
6. Third parties
I use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate my business:
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/gb/privacy)
- Calendly — appointment scheduling (calendly.com/privacy)
- Tally — client intake forms (tally.so/privacy)

7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to or request restriction of processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available on my website. Where changes are significant, I will notify active clients by email.
